F-4C “Phantom II”

The F-4 was first put into service in the US Navy in 1961 originally designed as an attack aircraft armed with 4- 20mm cannons but was soon modified as the “C” model on display here, to use advanced radar and missile armament. This F-4 was flown to Volk Field for display in October 1986 from the 107th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, NY ANG, Niagra Falls, NY.

There are 2 known McDonnell-Douglas F-4 Phantom IIs on display in Wisconsin.
