Lieutenant Colonel Kalen E. Stoddard is the Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff at the Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center. As the Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff, he oversees five staff level divisions responsible for personnel management, financial oversight, communications, advanced programs, operations, airfield management, logistics, security, maintenance, base infrastructure, and facility sustainment and modernization. Lt Col Stoddard also oversees the base scheduling and recruiting programs, maintaining a 300-member military workforce and serving over 10,000 joint customers annually.
Lt Col Stoddard received his commission through Air Force ROTC as a graduate of the University of North Dakota in 2008. He served over 7 years on Active Duty before joining the Wisconsin Air National Guard in 2016. Prior to his current position, Lt Col Stoddard served as the Director of Operational Training where he managed the 7,200 acre Hardwood Air Gunnery Range and a 20 million dollar portfolio of high-demand, low density training assets. Lt Col Stoddard also maintains qualification as an Air Battle Manager with the 128 Air Control Squadron.
<">Lt Col Stoddard has participated in both flying and ground-based command and control deployments supporting Operations ODYSSEY DAWN, UNIFIED PROTECTOR, and INHERENT RESOLVE accruing over 600 total combat hours on various platforms. During his Active Duty career, he accumulated more than 1,300 hours on the E-3B, E-3C, and E-3G Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft. EDUCATION
