Volk Field offers valuable crash, recovery training

Students lift a 21,000 pound decommissioned A-6E Intruder Navy plane during a Crash Damage or Disabled Aircraft Recovery (CDDAR) training course at Volk Field Air National Guard base on May 23. In the simulation, the aircraft was found upside down and students must rig the aircraft and conduct a complex lift and roll maneuver.
