Chief Master Sergeant Travis D. Skowronski

Chief Master Sergeant Travis D. Skowronski  is currently assigned to Headquarters, Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center, Volk Field Air National Guard
Base, Camp Douglas, Wisconsin. CMSgt Skowronski  serves as the Senior Enlisted Advisor, providing counsel to the Volk Field CRTC Commander, on issues and concerns for over 250 enlisted Airmen assigned to the CRTC, 128 Air control Squadron, and 126 Weather Flight.

CMSgt Skowronski enlisted in the Wisconsin Air National Guard on Sept. 12, 2001 and graduated from initial Command and Control training in September 2002. In January 2008 he was hand selected as the only Air National Guard student to attend the rigorous Advanced Weapon Director Instructor Course. This course was five months long and throughout the course he was responsible for briefing and debriefing with elite fighter pilots who were also in attendance. As a result of his incomparable dedication, CMSgt Skowronski was awarded Honor Graduate and Top Controller. CMSgt Skowronski supported multiple deployments to the Middle-East throughout his career, the latest one in 2017. Throughout each deployment he was afforded unique opportunities to liaise with Coalition partners, but in 2017 he was afforded the opportunity to grow professionally. In May 2017, his unit deployed on a joint endeavor with the active component to include Marines, Army and 5 coalition nations. CMSgt Skowronski was a primary controller in Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) and was responsible for coordinating with senior officers on ROE for mission execution in close proximity to Russian forces. When he was not controlling, the Senior led a team of ten on mission reconstruction that had AOC exposure for engagement authority and flight safety in theater.

CMSgt Skowronski has supported numerous off station annual training events and has been on countless exercise support trips to include Red Flag 15-3; and lead planner for Sentry Savannah 17-1 where he coordinated with eight flying squadrons and two grounds stations to make it a successful exercise. CMSgt Skowronski has been awarded his CCAF Degree in Air & Space Technology and his Bachelors in Business Administration from Viterbo University. CMSgt Skowronski is the Northern Lightning Enlisted Coordinator where he provides constant continuity for Volk Field and plans meetings for exercise agencies which in turn facilitates unit’s arrival and safe execution. CMSgt Skowronski is the Mission Superintendent for the Operations section, where he provides guidance to program leads and places airmen for program involvement. CMSgt Skowronski is also a lifetime member of the Wisconsin National Guard Enlisted Association (WNGEA), Legion Post 508 member, the 2018 Volk Field SNCO of the year and 2018 National Outstanding Battle Management Operator of the year.
