Lieutenant Colonel Nicole E. Mitchell

Lt Col Nicole L. Mitchell is the Commander of the 126th Weather Flight, Volk Field Air National Guard Base, Camp Douglas Wisconsin. Lt Col Mitchell is responsible for Weather Flight meteorological and tactical training; ensuring unit readiness; coordinating customer needs, including for Army Brigade Combet Teams; and developing squadron airman.

Lt Col Mitchell enlisted August 1992 and graduated Weather Observer technical training March 1993. Lt Col Mitchell received her commission from the Academy of Military Science in 2002. She has over 1700 hours in the C-130 serving as an Aerial Reconnaissance Weather Officer (Hurricane Hunter).

During her time in the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve, Lt Col Mitchell has participated in Operation Joint Guard, Operation Southern Watch, and has flown into major hurricanes including Katrina, Wilma, and Harvey. In her civilian capacity, Lt Col Mitchell is a state senator.
